Opening Hours

Breakfast places in San Jose generally open around 06:00 or 07:00 to catch business commuters and usually stay open throughout the day, while lunchtime dining venues open around 11:00 and close again at about 14:00. The same places and dinner restaurants may open at 16:30 until about 22:00 on weekdays and even later on Friday and Saturday nights. Shopping mall restaurants in San Jose stay open throughout the day.


Wine and Beer

With the nearby wineries in the Silicon Valley and beyond, it stands to reason that San Jose has a good selection of wine and beer restaurants. The Bargetto Winery produces some fine bouquets that can often be seen gracing the tables in downtown and Willow Glen, while the area known as SoFA near San Carlos Avenue is great for drinking.

Head for South Bay for ethnic flavors or Japantown for sushi, while just about every country is represented at eateries in the downtown area.
