Wine Tasting Near San Jose
Many visitors are quite surprised when they find out that there are actually some really gone wineries based close to the city. Even if wine isn't your thing, they make a good day out and most offer wine tasting and advice. The Cooper Garrod Vineyards are especially good and on Garrod Road in Saratoga, overlooking the Silicon Valley. Further afield, but still only a drive from San Jose, and wineries around the Santa Cruz mountains. We went there as well and really enjoyed what they had to sample.

Gorgeous Choccy in San Jose
If you want to buy chocolate when your here, then it doesn't come much better than the chocolate in Schurra's Candy Factory. This is on the Alameda, on the western side of the city center. There are lots of tasty, freshly made choccy treats here, in all shapes and sizes. This is the place to buy gifts.

The Prestigious San Jose State University
There are more than 25,000 students that go to the San Jose State University. Most people call it the SJSU. it was founded around 150 years ago and is California's oldest public university. The university atheletes are called the SJSU Spartans are have won almost 20- Olympic medals over the years. They currently have a good football and baseball team.
